Making Friends Is Difficult For Those With Autism

People that have autism may actually have a hard time making friends more than normal people. People that have autsim can actually still have friends. They usually end up making friends with people that have autism like themselves. These are more like people that are high functioning rather than low functioning. It is very sad because they want to socialize themselves around people as well. Normal people wouldn’t really hang with people that have autism because they are too afraid of what other people will think of them. That shouldn’t ever be the case. People that actually have autism go to special schools. They end up interacting with people of their type and that is how they begin to meet new friends.

It’s definitely very hard, but things can change. It just depends on how much a person with autism likes to socialize. It doesn’t bother most people, but it does bother others. If you have a child or a relative with autism, you should try encouraging them so that they do not feel down all of the time about making new friends. If they have trouble making new friends, then let them know that you can be their friend. They still like to have fun and engage in different types of activites. Just because a person has autism doesn’t mean that they cannot have any friends. It again, just depends on how bad their autism really is. It can amount to something different if you let it. The more they get out, the more people they will be able to interact with. It is all just a matter of time, but the bottom line is that it is very possible. These steps can be taken, but it may be a little bit slower than others who don’t have it.
